3 tips for a better grip on your company’s lease
More people work hybrid, offices sit half-empty and old leases roll on autopilot.

1. Review the lease with deadlines in mind
Many leases include automatic renewal or notice periods that can arrive surprisingly early.
- When does the lease expire, and is there a notice period?
- Is renegotiation possible – and when?
- What other options does the lease contain, and what are the deadlines?
2. Ask whether your premises still fit
Working habits have changed – have your premises kept up? Many companies lease too much or use space inefficiently.
- Are we the right size?
- Could we share or reallocate space?
- Do the premises support how we work today?
3. Check the market
The office market keeps shifting. In some areas prices are under pressure; others have become more or less attractive.
- What is the market rate for our premises – and what do we pay?
- Are there better alternatives nearby?
- Can we use the market as leverage?
